Light fantastic: China unlocks lifespan potential of next-gen LED | South China Morning Post
Chinese scientists have done a high-quality success in LED generation which could alternate future light systems. Researchers from Nanjing University and other institutions have discovered a way to extend the life of the next generation life when using pericyte materials. These LEDs provide better energy efficiency and colour quality than traditional lighting. However, their commercial uses are limited by the questions of durability and drop quickly over time with performance. New growth involves creating a strong structure by using the "Quantum Well" design, which helps stabilize the material and extend its function. Laboratory tests showed that these LEDs maintained 90% of the brightness after a continuous 1000 hours use. Experts believe that it can pave the way for high demonstrations, cost -effective LEDs used in performance, lighting and advanced optoelectronics. Success moves a step ahead of energy-capable technology and highlights China's growing leadership in top modern scientific research and content innovation.
