Mahama leads global call for vaccine access for 500 million at-risk children
Former Ghana President John Droni Mahama has asked to increase global support to ensure vaccination of more than 500 million children worldwide. Speaks to the 2024 Global Forum for Vaccine Sovereigny and Innovation in Paris, Mahama, especially the immediate need for immediate access to life -saving vaccines in Africa. He said that while rich countries made significant advances during the Kovid -19 epidemic, poor areas, especially Sub -Sahara Africa, are still facing the challenges of vaccine deficiency and infrastructure. Mahama emphasized the importance of vaccine SUVERENITY and urged the international community to invest in local production facilities and research initiatives. He also praised Global Efforts like Gavi and UNICEF for his roles in increasing the vaccination, but insisted that more consistent money and cooperation are needed. Mahama concluded that the protection of children through vaccination is not only a moral obligation, but also a strategic investment in future health and economic stability in the world.
