    More about Alexcity outlook newspaper : In 1884, Adolphus Longshore, teacher and lawyer, felt that his home town had to be promoted and he produced the first journal of Alexander City, The Beacon. After a few occasions changing hands, Capt. J.D. Dickson, who changed his name to The Outlook, bought the journal in 1892. Then, Mr. Fitz got the journal sold. O. Hooton, who for over 20 years has been the sole proprietor, publisher and publisher. The Outlook was bought by Boone Newspapers Inc. in 1974 and the journal was bought by Boone Newspapers in 1991 by Kenneth Boone.
