He took over as head of the group in 2020, succeeding leader Qassim Al-Rimi, who was killed in a US drone strike. But earlier America announced a reward of 40 crores on Batarfi’s head. AQAP is said to be the most dangerous group in Yemen since the death of Osama Bin Laden. “Allah took his soul when he patiently sought his reward. He stood firm and waged jihad,” the terrorists said in the video, according to the US-based SITE intelligence group.
