More about The Daily Report newspaper: The Daily report belonged to Mr. Hymer until Wililam Breitinger, its assistant editor, bought him in 1942. Mr. Breitinger & Ross Miller were coincidentally brothers in law. The paper, which Mr. Breitinger and his wife, owned, was sold to Don Breitinger in 1957. Don Breitinger moved the offices into the Haberfelde Building, where it remained for nearly 40 years, when it was destroyed for the purpose of making room for the new Bank of America. He sold the newspaper to Gay Thurber his sister on 1st July 1977. Under the direction of Ms Thurber, the paper was fully autonomous from start to finish, including the print shop.
