More about Sonoma Index Tribune newspaper: The Sonoma Index-Tribune, a newspaper covering the entire Sonoma Valley, is a five hundred circulation journal. Founded in 1879, it now publishes on Tuesdays & Fridays twice weekly, and also publishes a www.sonomanews.com website, a newsletter emails subscribers seven days a week, and several feeds for social media. The Sonoma Valley? Jack London's renowned "Valley of moon"? is located 40 miles south of San Francisco in North California's leading wine country. Sonoma City is the cultural and company center of the valley and was constructed around a green, tree-filled square intended by Sonoma's founding general Mariano Vallejo. Volume I No. 1, first issue of the Sonoma Index, was released here in the City of Sonoma on the 17th April 1879. Harry Granice, grandfather of Bill and Jim Lynch, the long-standing publishers, bought the journal in 1884 and renamed it the Sonoma Indix-Tribune.
