More about Texarkana Gazette newspaper : Bettie and his fresh bride Clyde E. Palmer boarded a train to Florida for their honeymoon in Fort Worth, Texas. Trains were not operating at night due to roaming livestock in those days. The train stopped for the night in Texarkana. Like most other travelers, Clyde and Bettie left the train to have supper in the city. After the night they decided to stay a couple of days when another train came by and could take them to Florida. Several newspapers were available in Texarkana then and Clyde chose to buy one. He purchased the 900 dollars Texarkana Courier.
