The Lodi News-Sentinel has been autonomous and locally owned throughout our history. Over the years, ownership has altered, from Ralph Ellis to Samuel B. Axtel to Fordyce P. Roper and George H. Moore, to Clyde C. Church, to Fred E. Weybret lastly. For many years Fred Weybret has been a publisher. Marty Weybret, son of Fred, became an editor in 1998. The Weybret family, led by veteran journal editor Steven Malkowich, announced on 28 May 2015 the sale of Lodi News-Sentinel to a new company, Central Valley News-Sentinel Inc.
