Eenadu was launched in Visakhapatnam by Ramoji Rao with the aim of creating a strong Telugu-language daily.
In its early years, it competed against established dailies like Andhra Patrika and Andhra Jyothy. During 1975–80s, gained traction due to grassroots marketing, local editions, and innovative circulation strategies. Benefited from its close association with N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which boosted its readership and influence.
