Correio do Povo is owned by Grupo Record and it is Founded by Francisco Antonio Vieira Caldas Junior. In its 1st issue it was defined as noble, Independent and strong. It is a Brazilian daily newspaper printed in Porto Alegre city, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Death of its founder in 1935 then Breno Alcaraz Caldas is the grandson of Francisco Antonio, assumed control of the paper and remained for more than half a century in that position. The group fell into a crisis after his presidency.
