According to police officials in St Vincent and the Grenadines, US actor Christian Oliver and his two kids died in a plane crash near a tiny private island in the eastern Caribbean. According to police, a plane crashed Thursday just west of Petit Nevis island near Bequia on its way to adjacent St Lucia.
Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force stated, Oliver, 51, identified in the statement by his true name Christian Klesper, and his daughters Madita, 12, and Annik, 10, were on board the small plane. Robert Sachs, a local homeowner and plane owner, was recognized as the pilot. According to the US State Department, Sachs is likewise an American.
According to officials, it was not immediately obvious what caused the crash. Authorities claimed fishermen and divers in the region rushed to the crash site to assist as the St. Vincent and Grenadines Coast Guard arrived. “The selfless and brave acts of the fishermen and divers is very much appreciated,” a police spokesperson said. The 51-year-old German-born actor had dozens of credited film and television parts, including “Speed Racer” in 2008 and “The Good German,” a 2006 World War II thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh starring George Clooney and Cate Blanchett.
