Talks between PML-N led by Nawaz Sharif and PPP led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
In the recent general elections held in Pakistan, the parties are in talks to form a coalition government as no single party has secured a majority in the 265 assembly seats. In this, Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Party won a majority of seats, while the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Party under the leadership of Pakistan Army-backed Nawaz Sharif and PPP party under Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari are holding talks. Long talks are going on to share the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan between the PML-N party for three years and PPP party for two years.
Discussions are underway to form a coalition government including the MQM-P party, which has secured 17 seats, if necessary to come to power.
However, the PTI party under the leadership of Imran Khan, which won more seats, has made it clear that they have no intention of joining this alliance. They have made it clear that they prefer to sit in the opposition rather than join this alliance.
