Modi congratulates ISRO scientists on the Aditya L1 satellite’s success newspaperhunt, January 6, 2024March 30, 2024 On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ISRO scientists on the arrival of Aditya L1, India’s first solar observatory. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched Adiyta-L1, the country’s first space-based observatory to study the Sun, into its destination orbit, Lagrange Point-1, 1.5 million kilometres from Earth. According to ISRO specialists, a satellite in a Halo orbit near the L1 point offers the fundamental advantage of constantly viewing the Sun with no occultations or eclipses. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C57) launched the Aditya-L1 spacecraft from the second launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota, on September 2, 2023.
