A series of bomb blasts on the day before the general elections in Pakistan … 30 people died and many were injured
Terrorism has become a big challenge for Pakistan which is reeling under a severe financial crisis. In view of the general elections to be held in Pakistan on Thursday, a day earlier, huge bomb blasts took place in 2 places in Balochistan. 30 people were killed and more than 50 people were injured in these blasts.
The bomb blasts on Wednesday made people panic as the general elections were to be held in Pakistan on Thursday. Senior police officer said in a statement that the terrorists may have targeted election candidates to prevent people from going to the polling stations.
The first explosion occurred outside the office of an independent candidate from Pishin district who is going to contest this general election. More than 20 people died and 30 people were injured in this incident. A second bomb was later detonated within an hour near the party office of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. Around 10 people lost their lives in this incident and around 20 people are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The Election Commission of Pakistan responded to these series of blasts and said that they will increase security in the troubled areas.
