About Hawaiian: Hawaiian language is one of the oldest living languages in the world. Hawaiian was an oral language. It is an official language of the state of Hawaii. In 1778, Captain Cook and his companions recorded the Hawaiian for the first time in Kaua'i. They noticed the similarity to Tahitian and Maori languages. The Hawaiian language took its name from Hawaii. In the year 1839 King Kamehameha III established a constitution in Hawaiian language. It is the first Hawaiian constitution.
